Absolutely incredible dining experience! Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. The karaage was a standout — perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside, and full of rich, savory flavor. The rainbow rolls were far from your average sushi rolls. These were exceptionally fresh and artfully crafted — a clear step above what you’d find in grocery stores or even many other Japanese restaurants. I was especially surprised by the seaweed rolls with egg. At first glance, they might not be the most photogenic dish, but wow — they were unbelievably delicious. A perfect example of “don’t judge a book by its cover.” We ended the meal with mochi for dessert, which had the perfect balance of chewiness and sweetness — a light and satisfying finish. Despite the place being crowded and busy, the servers were fairly attentive. They kindly opened our bottle of wine and offered a taste before pouring, which was a nice touch and showed great hospitality. The atmosphere was lively and had a good vibe overall, though it did get quite loud due to the number of people — something to keep in mind if you’re looking for a quiet dinner. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for creative, high-quality Japanese cuisine. Reservation is a must.

Overall a very enjoyable time here. The food was priced well and we were able to try a lot of different things. Some of the Maki rolls were just so so in terms of flavour, but all of the fish seemed really fresh. Our server was really friendly and checked in with us frequently despite how busy it was that evening. The only negative thing of note is that they initially had us seated right near the front door before we asked to move. People were trying to squeeze behind us and it was pretty cold... I'd just consider removing this table of I were the restaurant .

A fun and cozy izakaya bar. The kaarage chicken was an absolute winner. Crispy, crunchy, moist inside, and has a delightful slightly spicy warmth. Perfectly done japanese fried chicken that pairs well with Asahi beer. The gyozas weren't so perfect, drowning in a Thai sweet hot sauce. The curry chicken sauce was flavorful and popping but the chicken was was ordinary, slightly over cooked, there wasnt anything to dip into the curry sauce so we ordered a bowl of rice to accompany. The sushi was surprisingly good. We ordered califonia rolls, and it arrived with sweet tamago, unexpected and yet delightful sweet touch. We also ordered a rainbow roll, that was also good.

Wow!!! The food is incredible. We had chicken wings, wagyu gyoza, edamame, shrimp tempura, buruzu sushi, yaki udon, yuzu donuts. Everything was so tasty and we loved the chicken wings so much we ordered another round. It was very hard to pick a favourite but if I have to pick, it was the yuzu donuts...bit size and the yuzu flavour worked great with the sweetness and heaviness of donuts, perfect balance! Oh, one more thing, the cocktails we ordered were also excellent...Korunbu and Yugarita...very easy to drink and not very sweet, perfectly balanced.

Kyo bar never disappoints! My partner and I always come here to celebrate our anniversary because the food, service and atmosphere are always incredible. The sashimi and pork belly are to die for! The servers were so attentive and kind despite the restaurant being completely packed.

Nice experience at Kyo. Had dinner and tried a few different dishes. Sashimi was fresh, the rolls were creative. Agedashi tofu was a little too oily but still good. Our waiter was nice and professional.

The food was absolutely delicious! I had mentioned my gluten intolerance in advance, and when I arrived, the staff already knew and were fully prepared. They provided gluten-free soy sauce and a wonderful sashimi salad; so fresh and flavorful. In hindsight, I probably would’ve enjoyed a bit of rice on the side, but that’s on me for not asking. The edamame were tasty, though I would’ve liked a touch more salt. Since we were dining as a group, I really appreciated how well our server managed everything: friendly, attentive, and efficient. They even brought me gluten free dessert which I had NOT expected. And it tasted so good too, than was an extra treat for me. Overall, a great experience from start to finish. No complaints at all!

A great restaurant with some fantastic dishes and beers! Ed, Jacob, and Jesse all served us throughout the night and they were fantastic to speak to as they provided great recommendations for drink and food, along with great conversation. The beers being opened tableside and poured was a level of service I haven't experienced in quite some time from a restaurant. It was greatly appreciated. Being a vegetarian, Jacob recommended the Yami Yami roll that was one of the best sushi dishes I have ever had, hands down. The spicy edamame, miso soup, and vegetarian dumplings were all amazing choices as well. They weren't overfilling or overpowering in quantity and seasoning, respectively. The Hitachino beers were all so good and a great way to compliment the dishes if you enjoy beer with distinct flavor profiles. Normally, I'm only used to Sapporo as my home province has very little offering in the way of Japanese beer. The Hito White, Lager, Damidami, and Red Rice were all so unique but complimentary to the food. The taste was quite noticeable but subtle at the same time; each one was in its own way fantastic. I cannot emphasize enough how well they paired with the food that was served. I truly respect a restaurant that can elevate the experience by pairing drinks so effectively with the food. The entire restaurant is beautifully laid out. It felt like the prohibition met rustic-modern, and had a baby. It really provided a wonderful atmosphere to spend the evening so close to attractions like the Notre Dame Cathedral and La Grande Roue!

Enjoyed a great dining experience at Kyo. Really happy with our choice to come here and try a variety of dishes and drinks. Every bite was excellent, great quality beef and the fish/sashimi were the star of the night. Worth the price for our special occasion.
